We are hiring! We are looking for a studio assistant to join us in our busy craft kit workshop. We manufacture over 50 different craft kits at our cosy studio on the outskirts of Salisbury City Centre and are searching for someone to work in our studio making kits and assisting on admin duties. You will work closely with the team in a very busy environment.
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and supportive with a fun and polite approach to working. They will need to have a good working ethic and be prepared to work hard on lots of repetitive manufacturing tasks and be able to communicate confidently to work with the team or work to their own initiative. This job involves measuring and a lot of counting must be confident and accurate using maths. The Make Arcade is a fun and unique brand that is growing so an understanding of our ethos is also vital!
Job role includes:
- Making up components for our craft kits
- Cutting fabrics and materials
- Working in a production line set up.
- Packing retail and trade orders
- Planning work schedules for other team members
- Answering customer queries from our retail website
- Occasional post room duties/assistance.
An interest in Craft, arts and design would be advantageous as would someone who has worked in a design and manufacturing capacity. There is also the chance to assist on the design and development of our new kits depending on the ability of the applicant.
This role is positioned at our studio in Churchfields, Salsibury and the candidate would be required to work approx 25hrs + a week, to be confirmed with the successful applicant. We are a flexible employer and starting pay would be £8.85ph with an immediate start.
