Join our Workshop Team!

We want you to join The Make Arcade workshop team! We are seeking dynamic, creative and confident workshop leaders to run regular and seasonal craft workshops for TMA, in person and online. Established in 2013 The Make Arcade began doing workshops and sharing creative skills in Salisbury in the South West and London and from here it led to the creation of our popular and large range of Craft kits, all designed to be able to bring the pleasure of sewing and craft to people wanting to learn new skills. We got too busy making kits to do the workshops (and Covid stopped our plans to roll this out in 2020) but we are now ready to bring creative experiences back in force for 2022!

We are looking for people who are friendly and relaxed during the activities, as well as those who can share their skills with the participants and adapt your knowledge to pick up any skills that may be required to lead a specific workshop that we design. If you have a special strength, we wanna hear from you - but we would love to find people who are confident at leading all types of activity. Many of the workshop participants may be new to craft and creative techniques so patience and the ability to work under time restraints are very important. Workshops will vary from experienced adults and keen-to-learn beginners of varying age groups - corporate, birthdays, hen parties and everything in between!

TMA Workshops will provide a creative and immersive craft experience using TMA products and designs and we are looking for a team of freelance workshop hosts to work all over the UK to spread the word about making and creating in a relaxed and informative environment.  We will be looking for workshop leaders to host sessions at TMA HQ too, working with our workshop coordinator. On Zoom, in shops, at festivals and in person - we can’t wait to get the UK crafting and build a huge craft community!

Initially the roles will be freelance and will be predominantly weekend and evening work, as well as online workshops too (experience in an online environment would be fantastic!), and they would be a great opportunity to do some extra work along with a ‘normal’ job or to build up teaching experience. We are aiming to get our workshop program started in the Spring (subject to Covid measures) and successful applicants will get demonstration techniques, workshop handbook, free sample kits as well as some tools and supplies.

We will be accepting applications until Friday January 21st 2022 as we plan the next stage of the business!

The daily/hourly rate is TBC and we will cover certain expenses too.

Please send a covering email, CV and images/examples of relevant experience to hello@themakearcade.co.uk with ‘TMA Workshop Team’ as the subject heading. We can’t wait to hear from you!
